Chocolate Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Yield: 1 Loaf
Oven Temp: 350℉

Ingredients:

  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • 6 tbsp. melted butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. cocoa powder
  • 1/4 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. chocolate chips (I used milk chocolate)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉. Line a standard bread loaf pan with parchment paper so that the bottom and two of the sides are covered. Some of the parchment paper should come up over the rim of each of the sides. This will give you handles to get the loaf out of the pan when it's done baking. You could spray the pan, but you run the risk of crushing the chocolate chips when you turn the loaf out.
  2. In a large bowl mash up the bananas. I like to use a potato masher, but you can also use a fork.
  3. Stir in the melted butter, vanilla, beaten egg, and sugar.
  4. Sift in the baking soda, salt, flour, cocoa powder, and sour cream. Stir to combine. Fold in 1/4 c. of the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips across the top of the loaf.
  6. Bake for 40-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out of the center of the loaf clean. Allow the loaf to rest for five minutes before gently taking the bread out of the pan using the parchment paper sides. Cool completely. I like to eat it cold.
